The Los Angeles Philharmonic New Music Group gave the world premiere of Livre des Sauvages by Conservatory faculty member Oscar Bettison at Walt Disney Concert Hall on Apr. 10. Inspired by a mysterious book of pictographs, the work is in three movements: “Curious fauna, some of it murderous,” “Alchemy or a new religion,” and “Treasure ships and heretical ceremonies.”
