The documentary film, Defiant Requiem, created and musical directed by Murry Sidlin (BM ’62, Music Education; MM ’68, Instrumental Conducting), will be seen in New York for a week, August 3-9, at the IFC Theater in Greenwich Village; and will also be seen in Los Angeles at the Laemmle NoHo7 Theater in North Hollywood, August 17-23. The live performance his Defiant Requiem was presented in Jerusalem in May with the Jerusalem Symphony, and the Kuhn Choir of Prague. The entire Verdi Requiem is the centerpiece for the concert/drama. Other performances this year: the Berkshire Choral Festival in July, the Atlanta Symphony and Chorus in October, Peabody in April, and New York’s Avery Fisher Hall in April, and Prague in June. PBS will broadcast the film nationally next April as well.
