Danya Katok (MM ’09, Voice) made her Brooklyn Academy of Music debut as Commère in Mark Morris Dance Group’s production of Four Saints in Three Acts by Virgil Thomson in March. In June, she sang in master classes for Lisa Saffer, Graham Johnson, and Martin Katz; performed in John Musto’s The Book of Uncommon Prayer; performed Libby Larsen’s My Ántonia; and sang in the annual Great American Songbook concert with Musto at the piano at SongFest in Los Angeles. Upcoming performances include singing Messiah in the choir of Musica Sacra with Kent Tritle conducting at Carnegie Hall on Dec. 20 and 23, at 8:00 pm. Katok will perform with cellist Julia Biber at the Classical at Pete’s concert series at Pete’s Candy Store in Brooklyn on Nov. 8.  The concert will feature John Tavener’s Akhmatova Songs, as well as other works for voice and cello. Katok will perform on Oct. 10, at 7:30 pm, in the choir for Bach’s Mass in B minor at The Cathedral Church of St. John the Divine in New York, with Kent Tritle conducting. She will also sing in her second season of Remarkable Theater Brigade Music’s Opera Shorts on Oct. 19 at 7:30 pm at Carnegie Hall. On Oct. 21, at 3:00 pm, she will sing a concert of Broadway tunes, arias, and Jewish music with members of Leora Chamber Orchestra at Congregation Beth Ohr in Old Bridge, N.J.
