William A. Martin, tenor (MM ’03, Voice), former student of Stanley Cornett, was the subject of a feature article in The Baltimore Sun by music critic Tim Smith, Peabody grad stars in ‘Beauty and the Beast’ at Hippodrome. Martin was in Baltimore appearing at the Hippodrome Theater with the National Touring Company of Beauty and the Beast in the role of Maurice. Both Stanley Cornett and Eileen Cornett were interviewed and referenced in the article. In Tim Smith’s review of the production on January 25, he noted, “The cast also features Peabody Conservatory alum William A. Martin, who did some fine work in local opera productions over the years. He’s quite engaging as Belle’s father, Maurice, an eccentric who ends up the Beast’s prisoner.”
