Douglas Buchanan won Lowens Award for Student Research

Doctor of Musical Arts candidate Douglas Buchanan (MM ’08, Composition, Music Theory Pedagogy) won this year’s Irving Lowens Award for Student Research, a student paper competition held yearly by the American Musicological Society’s Capital Chapter. His paper was titled: “Rhetoric Rethought: Affektenlehre in Context.”
