Upcoming performances of early music

On March 30, countertenor Peter Lee (BM ’06, MM ’08, Voice) and faculty artist Ah Young Hong (BM ’98, MM ’01, Voice) will perform Pergolesi’s Stabat Mater with Charm City Baroque. The program will also include works by Handel. Concert at 3:30 pm at Second Presbyterian Church, 4200 St. Paul Street, Baltimore, MD 21218; Free admission

 

On April 4, the Notes & Quotes concert series will feature music and readings of the Italian Renaissance performed by the Peabody Consort and Professor James Coleman. MM voice students Daniel Moody and Julie Bosworth will sing “Pur ti miro” from Monteverdi’s Coronation of Poppea, as well as his virtuosic “Zefiro Torna”. Divisio- Brian Kay (BM ’13, Early Music), BM viola da gamba student Niccolo Seligmann, and BM percussion student Dan Raney- will perform on the program. Concert at 5:30 pm at the Bunting Meyerhoff Interfaith Center, N. Charles & University Pky, with a reception to follow.
