Daniel Schlosberg will perform world premiere

Daniel Schlosberg (BM ’00, MM ’01, Piano) will give the world premiere of “Starlight Ribbons” by renowned composer Augusta Read Thomas at Bargemusic in Brooklyn on May 2.  The work was commissioned by Harvard’s Fromm Music Foundation. Schlosberg also has recorded the work, due for imminent release on Nimbus Records.

Tammie Woods breaks glass with her voice

GPD voice student Tammie Woods broke a pane of glass in the opera studio with her voice. The incident occurred during a coaching session with opera stage director Garnett Bruce while Woods was singing an aria from Verdi’s Il Trovatore. The story, including some science behind the glass-breaking phenomenon, is featured in City Paper.
