casarrubiosAndrea Casarrubios (BM ’11, Cello) will be a Verbier Festival Academy participant at the Verbier Music Festival in Switzerland, July 15 – August 4, performing in its Cinema Concert Series and a chamber music concert. She is also performing the solo in a premiere of a new commission for eight cellos, To Dance On Sands, by Edward Nesbit, who was composer in residence last year in Verbier.She will perform a solo recital at the Ateneo de Madrid in Spain on August August 30. She will perform two of Bach cello suites (No. 1 and No. 6). In September, Casarrubios will be an Ensemble ACJW fellow, a program by Carnegie Hall, The Juilliard School, and the Weill Music Institute. Ensemble ACJW is an inspirational collective of young professional musicians who are fellows in a two-year program that supports them in building careers as top-quality performers, innovative programmers, and dedicated teachers who fully engage with the communities in which they live and work.
