Adam Pearl presents operas at Baltimore Theater Project

PearlWebDirector and harpsichordist Adam Pearl (BM ’99, Piano; MM ’01, DMA ’09, Harpsichord), in conjunction with Peabody Conservatory’s Early Music Department, will present two short but decadent operas from the French baroque repertoire at the Baltimore Theater Project on January 27 and 28 at 7:30 pm. By prefacing Marc-Antoine Charpentier’s hour-long treatment of the Orpheus legend with the farcical interludes he wrote for Molière’s The Forced Marriage, the performance will show two contrasting views on the subject of love and loss, treating the ancient myth as a ritual of salvation enacted in a madhouse.
