Kevin Puts, chair of the Composition Department, has won a Johns Hopkins Catalyst Award for his composition, The City (Symphony No. 5). A new multimedia work which celebrates the vibrancy of cities and Baltimore in particular, The City will receive its world premiere by the Baltimore Symphony Orchestra in April. The Catalyst Award provides grants of $25,000 to $75,000 to support the promising research and creative endeavors of early career faculty.
