Amit Peled’s Performance of Elgar’s Cello Concerto With Tucson Symphony Orchestra Reviewed in The Arizona Daily Star

amit-peledFaculty artist Amit Peled’s first performance of Elgar’s Cello Concerto on Pablo Casals’ instrument with the Tucson Symphony Orchestra and conductor José Luis Gómez on October 29 received a review in The Arizona Daily Star. “Peled’s performance went beyond the realms of flawless technical precision to a dreamy netherworld,” wrote music critic Cathalena E. Burch. The concert also featured Mendelssohn’s overture to The Fair Melusina, Schumann’s Symphony No. 3, and an encore performance by Mr. Peled of Prayer from Ernest Bloch’s Jewish Life.
