The 2016 New Music Gathering, held at Peabody on January 7-9, was featured in The Wall Street Journal on Tuesday, January 12. The article, by Allan Kozinn, highlighted the conferences many events, mentioning performances of works by faculty artists David Smooke – one of the event’s organizers – and Amy Beth Kirsten, as well as numerous other features including composer-performer speed dating, a performance of the complete Ligeti Etudes by Taka Kigawa, performances by So Percussion, ICE, Great Noise Ensemble, Lunar Ensemble, and Sonar Ensemble, and a five-hour reading of Morton Feldman’s For Philip Guston.
