Norman Huynh (MM ’13, Conducting) was named the Oregon Symphony’s new Harold and Arlene Schnitzer Associate Conductor. “Norman is a young conductor with great musical potential. He is versatile, clear in his ideas, and very charismatic. I am happy that he will join our Oregon Symphony family,” noted music director Carlos Kalmar. Mr. Huynh will join the symphony and assume the duties of associate conductor on August 1, 2016. “I am honored to be chosen as the next Associate Conductor for the Oregon Symphony. I am greatly looking forward to working with Maestro Kalmar, as well as the phenomenal musicians and staff. Sharing my passion for music with people of all ages throughout Portland and the great state of Oregon is a privilege and one that I thank the Oregon Symphony for giving to me.”
