Melody Giron Cast in The Sandbox, Plays with Stevie Wonder, and Appears in Multiple TV Shows

Melody GironMelody Giron (MM ’14, Cello) was cast in the off-Broadway production of The Sandbox by Edward Albee at Signature Theatre Company in which she will be acting the role of “The Musician” and performing on cello. The production opened on May 22. She also recently performed for a crowd of 35,000 people with Stevie Wonder, for his Songs in the Key of Life Tour 2015 at New Jersey’s Prudential Center and New York City’s Madison Square Garden. Ms. Giron appeared as a member of the string ensemble for NBC’s America’s Got Talent season 10 and can also be seen performing on Amazon Prime’s TV series, Mozart In The Jungle Season 2. Engaged in a variety of contemporary work as well, Ms. Giron recently went on tour with the Holographic Ensemble performing music by composer Daniel Wohl. Additionally, in 2015, Ms. Giron was assistant principal for the Contemporary Saxophone Project chamber orchestra’s performance with Javier Oviedo at Weill Recital Hall at Carnegie Hall. In December, she was invited to perform as part of Phil Coulter’s Twilight Christmas String Quartet. While on tour with Mr. Coulter, Ms. Giron performed for former President Bill Clinton and former Secretary of State Hilary Clinton at Carnegie Hall.
