Theory and musicology faculty Douglas Buchanan (MM ’08, Composition, Music Theory Pedagogy; DMA ’13, Composition) and Kerry Holahan (MM ’14, Early Music, Voice) will attend New Music on the Point Contemporary Music Festival June 5-19 in Leicester, Vt. Mr. Buchanan will premiere his piece, three microtonal movements in Gaelic written for the festival called “Fuaim is Seagh” for mezzo-soprano, clarinet, and cello, as well as perform the Lash Piano Trio with members of the Jack String Quartet. Ms. Holahan will premiere two pieces written for the festival: a setting of three Chinese poems from the Song Dynasty for soprano, flute and guitar by Sam Wu; and “Design” for soprano, flute, viola and prepared piano by Kristi Fullerton.
