The new CD by Peabody Conservatory faculty member Kevin Puts entered the Billboard charts at number 3 for Traditional Classical Albums and at number 20 for overall Classical Albums, including crossover CDs. The recording features the Peabody Symphony Orchestra and conductor Marin Alsop, music director of the Baltimore Symphony Orchestra and director of Peabody’s graduate conducting program, and was released in August. The disc includes Dr. Puts’ Symphony No. 2 and his Flute Concerto, featuring the London Symphony Orchestra’s celebrated principal flutist, Adam Walker.
