pic_NRD_052812_herschComposition Department Chair Michael Hersch (BM ’95, MM ’97, Composition) made an appearance at the piano in a performance of his Lullaby No. 2 at the Peabody Conservatory of the Johns Hopkins University. Mr. Hersch’s music is not often heard performed by the composer himself and has been called “a natural musical genius who continues to surpass himself,” by The Washington Post, and a composer of “works that are often startling in their complexity, beauty and demonic fury.” (The New York Times)
