Soprano Maggie Finnegan (MM ’10, Voice), a former student of Stanley Cornett, has won the Washington Award from the S&R Foundation in Washington, D.C. The S&R Washington Award recognizes talented emerging artists in all disciplines and supports talented individuals with high aspirations in the arts, sciences, and social entrepreneurship. The award is especially intended for emerging artists of great ability and potential who are looking towards the next stages in their creative development. Ms. Finnegan was awarded $5,000 and will be honored at a gala in Washington, D.C., on June 24.
