Russell Nadel Wins GTM’s 2017 Ben Steinberg Young Composer’s Award

russell_nadel-1493322575-9557Russell Nadel (BM ’05, MM ’06, Composition) has been named winner of the 2017 Ben Steinberg Young Composer’s Award, presented by the Guild of Temple Musicians and the American Conference of Cantors, for his choral piece titled Tov L’Hodot, which translates to, “It is good to give thanks” and contains the Hebrew text of Psalm 92. Mr. Nadel’s composition will be premiered in June at the 2017 American Conference of Cantors in Las Vegas. Mr. Nadel previously won Ben Steinberg Young Composer’s Award in 2010 for his piece Shabbat Cycle.
