Soprano Rachel Blaustein Wins Wisconsin District Met Council Audition

Blaustein-Rachel1Soprano Rachel Blaustein (MM ’15, Voice) was recently named a winner of the Wisconsin District Metropolitan Opera National Council Auditions. In Wisconsin, she is in residence with the Florentine Opera, singing the roles of  Sylviane in The Merry Widow, Second Woman in Dido & Aeneas, Shepherdess in Venus and Adonis, and Papagena in The Magic Flute. Last spring, she sang in Fort Worth Opera’s Frontier’s Showcase which aims to showcase new opera through selected excerpts sung by professional singers. Blaustein also participated in the Opera America Conference, and just before that sang Peep-Bo in Kentucky Opera’s production of The Mikado.
