Jose Lezcano (BM ’81, Guitar) recently performed the world premiere of his Mojito, Guitar & String Quartet with violinist Jennifer Ellowoitch and members of the Portland Chamber Music Festival at the Maine Academy of Modern Music, Portland Chamber Salon Series, and the Portsmouth Athanaeum Series in September. He has also performed in programs including quintets by Castelnuovo-Tedesco and Boccherini for guitar and string quartet. Lezcano also performed in the CD release concerts for Rebecca Harkta’s release of Colors, featuring the world premiere recording of his Cello & Guitar Sonata in November. He has also had pieces published by Cayambis Press: his Sojourners Concerto for flute, guitar, and string orchestra and Tango Overture for String Orchestra.
