Faculty artist Du Yun, composition, is a co-curator of and participant in the annual Spring Revolution Festival of Music, which began on March 2 and runs until March 11. This festival takes place at National Sawdust in Williamsburg, N.Y. She has programmed the festival with a focus on new works from Asian composers and a strong presence of female composers and musicians. Every night of this festival will feature a female artist or curator. She has sought out to question and challenge the public’s ideas about what it means to be Asian and a woman. Du Yun will perform on Friday, March 8 at 10:00 pm with her band OK Miss. Other events in the festival will continue March 8 through the 11 at various times.
