Jake Runestad is the Featured Composer at Carnegie Hall Convergence Festival

runestadJake Runestad (MM ’11, Composition; MM ’12, Music Theory Pedagogy) will be the featured composer for the 2018 Convergence Festival at Carnegie Hall. The festival includes workshops, rehearsals, and collaborations with Anton Armstrong. The festival will conclude with a performance of Runestad’s works with the festival chorus of 600 singers on Saturday, April 14, at 8:00 pm, on the Perelman Stage. Runestad will also be guest conducting the Choral Arts Ensemble of Portland on April 21, before travelling to Chicago where the Chicago Composers Orchestra will give the Chicago premiere of “Dreams of the Fallen” on May 5. Runestad was also interviewed for the first episode of Minnesota Public Radio’s Brian Newhouse’s new show, “Brian’s Picks.” Finally, the Santa Fe Desert Chorale released a recording of Runestad’s “Reflections,” a piece they commissioned in 2016.
