Faculty artist Eileen Cornett, vocal accompanying, represented Peabody Conservatory as a featured performer at the College Music Society’s 2018 National Conference in Vancouver, British Columbia, October 10-13, performing Sonata No. 1 for Clarinet and Piano by Alexander Grechaninov with clarinetist Dmitry Perevertailenko, as well as Edward Burlingame Hill’s Sonata, Op. 32 with clarinetist Elizabeth Gunlogson. Theory faculty artist Douglas Buchanan was also involved with the conference and gave a talk, Game Design for the Music Theory Classroom. Peabody alumni Kathryn E. Ananda-Owens (MM ’93, DMA ’98, Piano) and Lois Svard (DMA ’91, Piano) were also involved in the conference.
