Peabody’s Yale Gordon Competition for Woodwinds, Brass, Percussion, Harp, and Guitar has announced the winners. Christian Paquette, flute, won a first prize of $1,500 and will play with orchestra during the 2019-2020 academic year. He played Concerto for Flute and Orchestra, FS 119 by Carl Nielsen. Drew Dardis, flute, was awarded a second prize of $750, and Jay Shankar, clarinet, was awarded a shared third prize of $500.
