In June, conducting DMA candidate Juliano Dutra Aniceto was named the Hopkins Symphony Orchestra assistant conductor/Hopkins Concert Orchestra conductor. He makes his first appearance on the podium November 13 in a program that includes Bartók, Mendelssohn, and Respighi. He also leads the February 19, 2023, concert featuring works by Sibelius, Debussy, Cesar Guerra Peixe, and Astor Piazzolla.
