Jonathan Leshnoff’s String Quartet No. 3, the “Miller/Kahn” will be unveiled at the Newport Chamber Festival in Newport, Rhode Island on July 20 featuring a string quartet of international all-stars.
A flute concerto, commissioned by the family of Distinguished Visiting Faculty Member Bill Nerenberg, was premiered by the Philadelphia Orchestra under Charles Dutoit on Friday, Mar. 4. Leshnoff’s one-hour choral/orchestral work, Hope: An Oratorio, commissioned by the Philadelphia International Festival of the Arts, received its world premiere on Sunday, Apr. 24. Both performances were at Philadelphia’s Kimmel Center.
