After eight years in the Bay Area, Annie Phillips (BM ’08, Clarinet) moved to Boston to be assistant director of entrepreneurial musicianship at the New England Conservatory. Her previous positions were as operations and program director at Zoo Labs, a music accelerator in Oakland, and on faculty at the San Francisco Conservatory of Music, where I taught a graduate level class called Musical Startups. She also co-directs Switchboard Music, the only West Coast organization to win an ASCAP/CMA award for adventurous programming last year, which she will continue to be involved with.
