Johanna Kvam (MM ’15, Vocal Accompanying) completed a guest artist residency at Macalester College, teaching and performing works by Lili Boulanger, Wolf, Strauss, Montsalvatge, and premiering the song cycle “Chansons Innocentes” for soprano, Bb clarinet, and piano by composer Victoria Malawey. She also performed on the St. Paul concert series “Punk-Ass Classical.” Johanna joins DC Public Opera’s production of Benjamin Britten’s Turn of the Screw in January, conducted by Peabody alum Michelle Rofrano (MM ’15, Conducting) and featuring Peabody graduates Laura Virella (BM ’03, Voice), and then will join Virginia Opera’s Outreach touring company from January-April. Johanna is a pianist for Bmore Musical cabaret series and the Occasional Symphony. She also works for the Peabody Prep Voice and String Departments.
