Tryon and Burgstaller Perform with Summit Brass

tryon_burgstallerPeabody Brass Faculty Denise Tryon (horn) and Joe Burgstaller (trumpet) will be performing and giving masterclasses as members of the Summit Brass at the Rafael Méndez Brass Institute in Denver, CO from July 9-16.  Additionally, both will be featured in recital. Tryon will be performing Peter Askim’s A Door into the Dark. Burgstaller will perform a set that includes the Allegro from J.S. Bach’s Partita No. 2 for Violin as well as his own compositions. Burgstaller will also be soloing with the Denver Municipal Band.

Formed in 1985, Summit Brass is known as “America’s Premiere Brass Ensemble”, and includes current or former members of the Los Angeles Philharmonic, New York Philharmonic, Philadelphia Orchestra, Canadian Brass, The US Navy Band and more. The Institute will feature current faculty from Peabody, Yale, Indiana University, Arizona State, University of Illinois (Urbana) and Cincinnati College-Conservatory of Music.
