Johanna Kvam (MM ’16, Vocal Accompanying) has been selected as a Sandford Studio Artist Resident Pianist at Kentucky Opera in Louisville for the 2019-20 season. She will be the resident pianist for Kentucky’s mainstage productions of Carmen, Tom Cipullo’s Glory Denied, Le Nozze di Figaro, and pianist for Kentucky’s Youth Opera production of Robin Hood. Kvam is currently employed as an Emerging Artist Pianist at Virginia Opera, where she has worked on productions of Benjamin Britten’s A Midsummer Night’s Dream and Donizetti’s Lucia di Lammermoor, as well numerous education outreach tours.
