2021 Azalia H. Thomas Prizes and the Peabody Alumni Award Announced

The Peabody Conservatory honors graduates with the Azalia H. Thomas Prizes and the Peabody Alumni Award during graduation each year.

The Azalia H. Thomas Prizes are awarded to the instrumentalist and the vocalist who graduate with the highest grade-point average in Music Theory earned throughout the Bachelor Degree program.

This year there is a six-way tie between instrumentalists. The Azalia H. Thomas Prize for instrumentalists is awarded to:

  • Esther Gloria Cook
  • Ellen Theresia Gruber
  • Claire Marie K. Hebeisen
  • Sophia Priscilla Lou
  • Mafalda Sofia Teixeira dos Santos
  • Hannah Grace Tassler

The Azalia H. Thomas Prize for vocalists is awarded to:

  • Claire Marguerite Iverson

The Peabody Alumni Award was established by the Peabody Alumni Association, and is annually awarded to the graduating student who attains the highest grade point average for the entire Bachelor Degree program. This year there are two students tied for the highest cumulative overall GPA.

The Peabody Alumni Award is given to:

  • Esther Gloria Cook
  • Mafalda Sofia Teixeira dos Santos
