Pianist and coach Celeste Johnson (MM ’14, Vocal Accompanying) was principal coach and backstage conductor for Minnesota Opera’s production of Bizet’s Carmen. During the production, she reunited with fellow Peabody singers Denyce Graves, who made her directorial debut, and Symone Harcum (MM ’18, Voice), who sang the role of Micaëla. She also joined Peabody conducting graduate Peter Jacobsen for an Alexander Technique Workshop in the Twin Cities. Celeste is headed to coach for the Glimmerglass Festival this summer.
