In August, OPERA America announced Commissioning Grants to seven opera companies through its Opera Grants for Women Composers program, including to Beth Morrison Projects and composer Paola Prestini (’95, Composition) for an adaptation of Ernest Hemingway’s Old Man and the Sea (libretto Royce Vavrek).
