On March 3 and 4, 2023, the Virginia Symphony Orchestra premiered “Rondo ’n Roll,” a movement of Christopher Palestrant’s (MM ’98, DMA ’91, Composition) double concerto Soda Shop Suite as part of the Community Connections concert series presented by Elizabeth City State University. The symphony has commissioned Palestrant to write an arrangement of Christmas carols for their 2023 holiday concerts.
