The Wiener Festwochen and the Segal Center held a panel discussion exploring the current state of representation of women composers especially in opera and concert halls, part of the festival’s new Academy Second Modern, what it calls a “global platform for female composers that aims to significantly increase the visibility of female composers worldwide.”
The livestreamed panel included Pulitzer Prize-winner Tania León, Kristin Marting (PROTOTYPE), Milo Rau, Marcia Sells (Met Opera NYC), Peabody faculty artist Du Yun, and other representatives of New York cultural institutions.
