National Seminario Ravinia: Orchestras for All Releases July Concert Video

Headshot of Marin AlsopThe Ravina Festival’s National Seminario Ravinia: Orchestras for All program—which brings some 130 students from El Sistem-like programs from all over the world, including Tuned-In and BSO OrchKids, to Chicago for a weeklong intensive and performance alongside National Orchestral Institute + Festival musicians, led/conducted by Marin Alsop and current conducting graduate students Jessica Altarriba (and Juliano Aniceto, Alsop’s Ravina assistant during the festival)—are featured in the seven-minute pre-concert video that leads into the video of the July Orchestras for All concert, featuring Sibelius’ Finalndia, Op 26; Nabors’ Distant Worlds,  “Great Movie Adventures” (the work of John Williams arranged by Michael Sweeney), and Mahler’s Symphony No. 1 in D Major (“Titan”), with Alsop and Altarriba on the podium.
