ensemble132, a chamber music collective headed by Co-Artistic Directors Sahun Sam Hong (GPD ’15; MM ’17; DMA ’24, Piano) and Zachary Mowitz, was a recipient of the Artistic Projects through Chamber Music America, supported by the Howard Gilman Foundation. Through the Artistic Projects Grant, ensemble132 will record and promote its debut album with various community events in New York City, with a unique double-header program featuring Stravinsky’s Petrouchka and a selections from their genre-bending string quartet program “Blues and Beyond” celebrating the 150th birth-anniversaries of Coleridge-Taylor and Ravel. CMA will distribute $479,750 through two of its grant programs to support the work of ensembles and presenters across the contemporary and traditional jazz, classical, and folkloric genres.
