Cody McVey’s A Scarlet Gap Performed at New World Center

Headshot of Cody McVeyCody McVey’s (MM ’20, Composition) A Scarlet Gap, a piece for mezzo-soprano and chamber orchestra that McVey started at Peabody and shared first prize in the 2020 Virginia Carty DeLillo competition, will be performed at New World Center on April 28. The performance coincides with Miami Pride Month and Poetry Month and will feature all queer composers and queer/ally performers. McVey was commissioned to finish the piece by Owen Ruff, a New World Fellow who won a NWS BLUE project grant to put on a chamber concert.
