In April, Raluca Matei took part as a coach in the Empower Your Pitch Competition organized by the Doctoral Life Design Studio at Johns Hopkins University, where doctoral students compete for several awards by presenting their research in a compelling manner in a maximum of 3 minutes. Raluca Matei’s amazing mentee, Kim DeFiori, from the Department of Health Policy and Management (Bloomberg School of Public Health) won the Outstanding Public Engagement Through Research Communication Award. Her research focuses on the lived experience of suicide among LGBTQ+ veterans. Thanks to Kim’s incredibly kind words, Raluca Matei was honored with the Outstanding Peer Coach Award.
