Felipe Lara, Associate Professor and Chair of Composition, announced the release of his third album, Brutal Mirrors, on Kairos (Vienna). This double album spans 20 years of work and features performances by long-time collaborators: the International Contemporary Ensemble (ICE), along with ICE OGs Claire Chase, Rebekah Heller, and Joshua Rubin. Ensemble Adapter as well as pianist Stephen Gosling and trombonist Weston Olencki are also featured.
Conductors David Fulmer and Nicholas DeMaison lead ICE in stunning recordings of Mosaic Maze and the title track Brutal Mirrors.
This album is made possible by a Deans Excellence Accelerator Grant from the Peabody Institute. Brutal Mirrors is now available on all major streaming platforms and in CD format.
