On October 10 and 11, the Mid-Atlantic College and University Housing Officers (MACUHO) hosted the 2025 Student Staff Live-in Conference (SSLI) at Golden-Beacom College in Delaware. SSLI is a regional professional development opportunity specifically geared toward RAs. Daniel Pretz, associate director for Housing and Residential Life, and his staff presented sessions at the conference.
Graduate Hall Director Sarah Parker (Composition) presented a session in which she used experimental music and guided improvisation as a model to explore leadership as a performance art.
Resident Assistant Mariana Weaver (Music Education / Voice) and Senior Resident Assistant Olina Kilbury (Music Education / Composition) are both student teaching this semester and presented a session which translated lessons learned from the elementary music classroom to the work of an RA with a floor community.
MACUHO is the regional arm of the Association of College and University Housing Officers International (ACUHO-I), the primary professional association for housing and residence life professionals.
