Nola Richardson (MM ’10, Voice Pedagogy; MM ’11, Early Music Voice) created the title role in the new opera Hildegard by Sarah Kirkland Snider, which ran January 9 – 14 as part of the Prototype Festival in New York City after premiering in November 2025 at the LA Opera. Musical America’s review notes: “Nola Richardson was ideally cast as Hildegard, her beatific visage and shimmering lyric soprano bringing to mind the young Barbara Hendricks.”
