Elizabeth Moak Receives Steinway Top Teacher Award

Elizabeth Moak (BM ’83, MM ’86, DMA ’03, Piano) received a Steinway Top Teacher Award, a formal recognition by Steinway & Sons that commends a piano teacher’s passion, artistry, and commitment to students. Exemplary piano teachers in regions throughout the country are selected to receive the honor through nomination. Moak was nominated by Christy Broussard Myers, co-owner with her husband Chris Myers, of the Steinway Gallery, Spanish Fort, Alabama.

Noted for her “brio, assurance, and remarkable talent” (ResMusica, France) as well as her “musicianship and panache” (Classical Net), pianist Elizabeth Moak has performed throughout the USA (including Hawaii and Puerto Rico) and internationally (China, Taiwan, Europe, Canada, Peru, and Brazil). Recent solo performances encompass Colombia and a return to Peru. Performances in 2026 will take her to Europe and Australia.
