From Earth’s Floor: Small Poems by retired voice faculty artist Marianna Busching was published by Wipf and Stock Publishers in December, 2025.

These short poems are easy to read and invite contemplation with their often-unique perspective of God as the personal Creator and Savior. Although there is both joy and pain contained and expressed in these poems, there are touches of humor that may make readers smile. The “Ending” poems lead to a truly glorious “End.”

Marianna Busching is a retired opera singer who performed in Carnegie Hall and other venues around the world. She was a vocal instructor for twenty-four years at the Peabody Conservatory of the Johns Hopkins University. She is the author of the academic book on singing, Images for Better Singing, as well as three mystery novels under the pen name of Emma Aragon. With this new release, Marianna Busching, who has won the Guy Owen award presented by the Southern Poetry Review, brings her first collection of poetry in chapbook form.
