On March 22, The Gerda Lissner Foundation presented a program featuring outstanding young artists from the Peabody Conservatory, hosted by The Greene Space at WQXR. Curated by world-renowned soprano and Distinguished Chair of Vocal Studies Elizabeth Futral with music direction by Laurie Rogers (Director of Artistic Operations at Opera Saratoga and Music Director of Peabody Opera Theater), this event included a special appearance from celebrated alumna Cierra Byrd and highlights repertoire that reflects the breadth and excellence of Peabody’s Vocal Studies training, showcasing the talents of its students and emerging artists. Selections by Weill, Schubert, Mahler, Mozart, and more were sung by students Cierra Byrd, mezzo-soprano, Rira Kim, soprano, Julie Knott, mezzo-soprano, Sara Nealley, soprano, Daniel LaRue, tenor, and Holden Turner, baritone.
