Carter Brey, (BM ’76, Cello) the principal cello of the New York Philharmonic since 1996, announced his retirement at the end of the 2025-26 season. His farewell performance will be under the baton of Stéphane Denève on July 19 at the Bravo! Vail Music Festival.
