Three new full-time faculty members joined the Conservatory’s distinguished faculty over the summer.

Rachel Brashier, new chair of Music Education, is the founder of the annual Active and Integrative Music Education (AIME) conference and editor of its journal. She comes to Peabody from the University of Wisconsin-Stevens Point, where she was director of Music Education.

Annie Fullard, the new Sidney M. Friedberg Chair of Chamber Music, is a founding member of the renowned Cavani String Quartet and a leading chamber music advocate and educator. Her performances and teaching have taken her throughout the 50 states and abroad, and she has served as a juror for some of the most prestigious chamber music competitions. The book The Art of Collaboration: Chamber Music Rehearsal Techniques & Teambuilding, which Fullard co-wrote with Dorianne Cotter-Lockard is forthcoming from Oxford University Press.

GRAMMY®-nominated percussionist Ian Rosenbaum (BM ’08, Percussion) joins the Percussion department as associate professor. He’s a founding member of Sandbox Percussion—the new music quartet that includes Jonny Allen, Victor Caccese (BM ’11, Percussion), and Terry Sweeney (BM ’13, Percussion)—which visits Peabody each semester as a full quartet for percussion ensemble instruction.

Brashier, Fullard, and Rosenbaum join previously announced Conservatory faculty members Richard Drehoff (MM ’18, Composition), music theory; Emily Milius, music theory; Boris Slutsky, piano; and Shirley Yoo (Krieger A&S BA ’95, DMA ’05, Piano), chamber music.
