Violin Professor Judith Ingolfsson and pianist Vladimir Stoupel of Duo Ingolfsson-Stoupel released an album of works by Karol Rathaus, Heinz Tiessen, and Paul Arma through Naxos. The sonatas by Tiessen and Arma were recorded for the first time.

Wigmore Hall announced Nicholas Bentz (BM ’17, Composition, Violin; MM ’18, Violin) has been select for its Lockdown Commissions Scheme. Each composer selected will write music reflecting their individual experience which will will be premiered at Wigmore Hall over the next four years.
The winners have been announced for the 2020-21 Marbury Undergraduate Violin Competition at the Peabody Conservatory. Ran Huo (pictured) was awarded first prize and Hanyu Feng was awarded second prize.
Distinguished Visiting Artist Midori is among this year’s Kennedy Center honorees to receive the 43rd Kennedy Center Honors for lifetime artistic achievements. The Honors events are scheduled to be held May 17- 22, 2021 with a gala broadcast to CBS on June 6, 2021 at 9:00 pm ET.
Violin student Yanxiong Kevin Huang performed with the China Philharmonic Orchestra in the closing concert of the 23rd Beijing Music Festival conducted by Yu Long. Huang, concert master of the China Youth Philharmonic Orchestra, performed “You and Me” by Qigang Chen. Huang is a sophomore in the studio of Herbert Greenberg.
