Gemma New (MM ’11, Conducting) spent five weeks as one of two Ansbacher Conducting Fellows with the Vienna Philharmonic at the Salzburg Music Festival, a week with Kurt Masur, and worked with the Baltic Youth Philharmonic. She also reached the semi finals of the LSO Donatella Flick competition in London. New also won first place in the American Prize Awards this year for orchestra conducting (College/University Orchestra division).
